Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are utilizing our sewing capabilities and our vintage fabric to produce face masks. Hopefully we won't be making these for too long. Here you can see our current production method for the masks with a sleeve for a filter and nose wire for a snug fit.
This is our previous design, our new design has 2 button holes instead of 8. We will update this page soon to show the newest process.
Cut 2 pieces for the outer fabric.
Cut 2 pieces for the liner.
Sew 2 button holes, 1 on each outer piece.
Below is a clip of our earlier version that required 8 holes.
Sew the 2 outer fabric pieces together inside out.
Sew the 2 liner pieces together inside out.
Iron and fold the edges of the liner.
Hem the liner with double stitches.
Sew the liner and outer fabric together inside out.
Turn the fabric right side in and iron the edges.
Sew the perimeter and double sew the fold making it easier to thread the cording.
This clip also shows sewing the channel between the button holes for the nose wire.
Double fold the end for the cord channel.
Sew a channel for the cording/elastic etc...
Cut and turn wire with pliers for the nose wire.
Wash / Dry and Iron the mask.
Insert the nose wire, elastic or cording and cord stop
