Rustic yet refined.
We make these pillows from old grain sacks from Eastern Europe. The grain sacks are usually quite dirty and stained when we get them, it is an involved process, but they eventually come clean. If the sacks come out of the cleaning in perfect condition, we put button holes and buttons on the top of the sack and voila, you have a nice pillow cover. We have to be a bit more creative when there are holes and or horrific stains to be cut around, those sacks end up as pillows of varying size, depending on where the problems were. On those we use a zipper closure. Since they have been hot washed and dried by us, they can always be re-washed without fear of shrinkage or bleeding. They have a feather/down fill.
